#7 – Machu Picchu Ruins, PERU

Take the long way to Machu Picchu via the original Inka Trail

Machu Picchu, the 15th-century Inca citadel located 2,430 metres above sea level on a mountain ridge above Peru’s Sacred Valley is on the must-do list of most travellers. This is for a very good reason as visiting Machu Picchu is a surreal experience. But, don’t take the bus or train with the fat ladies and the bald uncles – take the long long hike (2-3 days) via the ancient Inka Trail to arrive high above the Machu Picchu riuns at sunrise. Its absolutely amazing and a hike you will never ever forget.
