#3 – Svalbard Islands, NORWAY
In Svalbard you are truly (almost) on top of the world!
If you ever fancied being truly on top of the world but just can’t make it all the way to the North Pole, then settle for Svalbard. These Norwegian islands are just a stone throw away from the North Pole and a great place to see polar bears roaming. Mid winter offers surreal darkness while the fringes of winter showcases the stunning snow and ice covered landscapes packed with adventure, such as polar bear spotting by dog sled or snow mobile. However, the best time to see polar bears are in summer when they congregate around the ice fields in search of leopard seals.
